ick still....month and a half later...

hello all well I thought I would write to let you know how that salt treatment was going. Well after a month and I half I swear that I am still seeing ick on what is left of my fish(see below). So I finally have decided to go the chemical cure root out of sheer frustration let me assure you. I am using Quick Cure(formalin and malachite green) I have put the max dosage in 25 drops over 4 days in the 10 gallon as well as some Melafix. Its been a week and I am sure my fish are not happy. I mean they are eating fine with a good appitite but I swear I still see sublte signs of ick on them. I do not want to put them back in the big tank and re infect that one all over again, the smaller cory is looking abit stressed thou and I am worried that the meds are catching up with him. But what can I do???I am really lost and am thinking the aquarium thing was a big mistake. I knew that there would be some problems but sheeshhhh!! Thanks for any help as always.

I think that I can see small tiny cysts on their bodies and tails. the size of pin heads. Thats why I am not sure if it is ick still or naturally occuring marks.

Do the tiny little cysts get bigger in a couple of days? I have never seen ICH that didn't grow to about the size of a grain of salt. Also are your fish flashing or scraping their gills? Ich has an easier time with the gills, and will almost always attach there to some extent or another. The spot could be scars, could also be another problem entirely.

I would suspect those are exit wounds from where ich was--if the spots don't enlarge and drop off, it is not ich.

thanks all, I take a closer look and maybe it is just some scarring. I thought that it might be that but then I wasn't entirly sure if fish got scars(I know my inexperience is showing through) I will inspect later however and write the results back. Thanks for you help
