Right now I have 2 convicts, 2 iridescent sharks, and 3 plecostomus in a 29 gallon tank. I want to turn this into a community setup. I am going to get rid of the convicts, and I really dont care either way about getting rid of the iridescent sharks or plecostomus if needed. I would like to get some glass catfish, and some ghost shrimp, and a few neon terras, but I would like some suggestions about what other fish to get. Thanks

Well since I love Cichlids I would say dwarf cichlids of course, Apistogrammas or Lamprologus. I haven't had convicts or ird. sharks, but the plecos have to go. They get 12" long and put off to much waste to even have one in a 29gallon IMO.

Yea, both the plec and shark will get real big. You could hold on to them but they will outgrow the tank and add a lot af waste to the system. Best to take all you fish to your LFS and donate them. Some LFS will give you some sort of reimbersement for your fish.

I really like the idea of Glass Catfish! I would like to put some in my tank. I have read that they can grow 5-6". They are a schooling fish and will not do well in a school under 3. Also the neons look real cool in schools. I have 5 in my tank. If you want a plec then get a bristlenose plec. It will keep your algae under control and does not grow beyond 4-5".

hey if u wanna to get a pleco that won't outgrow your 29g get a bristlenose pleco they are really cool like everyone else said sharks and the plecos need to go

Surly the convicts will eat the glass fish? :sad
