If you had the choice to pick a setup which would you go with. This is for a 180 gallon 6'x2'x2' tank. With pressurized CO2

1. 6 lights at 54 watts each T5 HO set up
2. 4 lights at 110 watts each VHO icecap setup
3. 4 lights at 96 watts each power compact setup
4. 3 lights at 150 watts metal halid setup with 6 24watt T5s

I like the pc's. Have had good results with them.

1. T5 HO for sure, but I would change to (two) 4x39watt fixtures (36" models).

Well it all depends on how you are going to scape the tank.
If you are going to scape all over the place then go with #1 or #2 even output of lighting. But if you are going to go with a open middle and low ground plants in the middle and build up the sides then #4 which would direct lighting with the halid lamps.

I have number 3 over my 100gal and my 120.

Halide shimmer is just too **** sweet to pass up. If cost is no concern, get the halides and never look back.
