I have one of my sharks that developed some alarming symptoms. It has large white Blotches all over it. Originally I thought it was Ick but this is way to big for ick I am trying to find out What It is. the white blotches are everywhere on it. big its on the poor guy's eyes. it's not pop-eye. Its somthing much worse. I will post a picture as soon as I get one. Please Help me!

Probably a fungal infection, from the way it sounds. Hes probably over-producing his slime coat.

Here's the picture

I had a tiny problem with some of my water parameters, they have been solved for over a week now, I had to do a huge water change and changed the floss and sponges in my filter and some water nitrate(both of them) to fix the problem. none of them passed on but I am worried about this one. It's one of my favorites other then my gourami and knives

please any other thing? I looked in to some things and found somthing that they say is rare and uncureable...

Assuming it's not TB, and that's hard enough to diagnose without the blurry top down picture you have (not a slam, just factual), it looks like open ulcers covered with a bad fungus infection. Is he hovering at the surface swimming in circles? Not gulping air, just swimming under the surface all the time. Is he eating?

You have to remember that scaleless fishes suffer the most with bad water parameters and even after that has been corrected, it may have already compromised their immune system so that they pick up any bacteria floating in the tank.

He looks pretty bad. Isolate that guy asap and start a regime of anitbiotics - tetracycline, erythamycine. If you salt, do so lightly and warm the water up -- not too much, don't stress him. Change the water often and redose to keep the levels of antibiotics up.

Give it your best shot.

He has died at 11:33 Tonight, there was nothing I could have done to save him. It was just wa to advanced. whatever it was I am treating my tank with some antibiotic, tetracycline. so in hopes that none of my other fish catch whatever this is, I am also now treating for ick too just in case, I moved my knives to a QT tank and am observing for this condition in them. Thanks for the help

Sorry about your loss! Not to be mean but what exactly made you change out all your floss and sponges? When you do that you are removing almost all of the bacterial colonies and will send the tank into a new cycle almost like you started with a fresh tank.

because they were a cause to the problem. If i start a new cycle then so be it. I was prepared to move all the fish to a giant tub an start fresh with the tank.
