i'm a virgin help!

yothereyo..

Am not sure if the clamp version will work on plastic pipe as its designed to be used on metal pipework..How-ever, they are self sealing, so i dont see why not...Ask at B&Q..

The standard hose connection that you get on them will fit onto your washing machine hose cold water connection ( which incidentally, is the same as the normal outside garden tap screw fitting..

Collecting the water - i brought from B&Q a large water collector, it holds about 55 gallons ( large green, with a black lid £34 )..I routed the purtified water outlet from the RO Unit into the large green container and the waist pipe from the RO unit out through the wall and into my drain ( the waist water is disgusting...taste it....he he he )..

The pipe clamp has an on/off tap on it which you can use to stop or allow the water flow into the RO Unit..

princessbobsie - It is not a problem if you dont have an outside tap as you can buy from B&Q a water pipe clamp which you piggyback onto a water pipe in your house and this connects up to the RO UNIT..

I will take some pictures tonight and post on here tomorrow for both of you to give you an idea of what an RO Unit looks like and how mine is connected up..

Hope this all helps

thank you, looking forward to the pics. i'am on ebay looking for one right now, there is so many diffrent types, might get a 30-50gal three stage one. how much are replacment catridges and how long before they exhust out.
I to don't have a outside tap.

Hiya..

on ebay..here is a few to look at..the companies that sell them also stock the replacemnt media cartridges, each manufacturer specifies different replacement time lines so its hard to say..

Which one you go for i suppose is dependant on the finances. I brought a 4 stage unit as i wanted great quality water for my tank so i did not mind spending a little extra for the 4th stage..

Dont worry so much about the tap outside. Will talk you through hhow to get it up and running with the clamp

I know i said that i want a 3 stage, but for an extra tenner, i quite like the 4 stage. They are both nearly identical, even one is 3 and the other 4, not so much on the price diffrent. Is this the same unit you have installed? much cheaper then the LFS. They want 130 quid for a 3 stage.

i just want to mention about the clamp. That when i was in the toilet(sorry for that info), i noticed some kind of tap thing attached on the pipe work with no outlet or pipes coming down from it. it seems to be some kind of clamp device. So I got a bucket and turned it on, and hey presto there is water drippong from it. Allthough the water was stinking of copper and really murky brown, I assume there it has not been used for a long time. There is no pressure from this but just a dribble, so am guessing that it is no good. It looks more like a tap. Is this the sort of thing you are talking about atnixon.

Hiya Mate, the best place you can use for the clamp is where the mains water pipe comes into your house. mine is in the kitchen, a lot of households come in there for terraced house or semi's

It does need to be before the central heating system starts on the water piping because central heating systems create a lot of junk and crap in the pipes, like what came out of the pipe connector you just undid....

i went to go look for my pipe haha and its in the kitchen...but its behind the kitchen if you get me so i would have to destroy my mums new kitchen to get to it .... what do i do?

That pipe will usually lead to the unit in the kitchen where the kitchen sink is, so you may be able to find the pipe there..

As promised, here are the pictures of my RO UNit installed..Pic's aint brill cus had to do them on my mobile as my digi cam is borrowed out..Hope the pictures answer a few questions that have been asked in this thread
