It should work, getting spare parts for it might be a nightmare though.

I had one of those years ago. It worked ok for me on a 40 gallon tank. I had a descent amount of community fish in it.

*UPDATE* filter arrived its pretty big didnt expect it to be, I hooked it up pretty simple only hard part was getting the 2 siphon u tubes going but it works excellent glad i had the impluse buy mood that day. i wouldnt mind one of these on each of my tanks.
