I must really be out of it!
I'm having a hard time figuring out what all of these initials mean. I keep seeing things like OMG & IMO & etc.
Is it really that difficult and time consuming to completely spell out a word?
I know I'm not the only one who finds this irritating.
and oh, by the way......
MOYSALAAFOS.
 
I'm anti acronym as well. The computer industry is inundated with acronyms. IMO (In My Opinion) and OMG (Oh My God!) are just a few of many that have made us lazy typers. It's very irritating when people use acronyms for fish like SAE for Siamese Algae Eater.
 
Yah, I usually spell out siamese algae eater (unless i'm in a rush). But I do use terms like OMG, IMO, IMHO (in my honest opinion), and IME (in my experience), because they are generally understood here, and there is also a list of them as a sticky. I'd explain LMAO or WTF, but I don't think I'm allowed :rofl: ...

Oh, and btw, rofl means Roll On Floor Laughing, just noticed that when I did the smiley above :lol:

You must not get to many boards. The younger the people, the more you are inundated with the 'quickies'...... I see IMO and IME (and MUCH more) everywhere.. I've only been on line for about 12 yrs and I use these and more. Not too often but often enough.

BTW, I thought IMHO, was 'In My Humble Opinion'.. ;)

I must say I TRY to NOT when talking about fish, it gets too confusing.

WTF!! you guys sound like old ppl. Stp complain, short hand been arnd for lng time, it's not new. N u jst type faster if u cut out som letters. It's chng....embrass it. :headbang2: :headbang2: (lol just kidding guys)
 
oh try the Navy..we have acronyms WITHIN acronyms!

example: ARCI (Acoustic Rapid COTS (Commercial off-the-shelf) Insertion)
