Indian Biotope Journal

I'm thinking I am good to go on the Dario dairo and I will be doing a school of either Danio Choprae or Oryzias dancena to complete my fish. I will likely try some ghost shrimp and see if the Gourami's tear them apart or not. IF they don't get eaten I will carry on with my original idea of eventually adding some sort of caridinia specie of shrimp native to India.

Well, I pulled out most of the Wisteria(never really liked it) and performed my first trim on many of the plants. Some of my Crypt. ciliata are still not rooting very well. They seem to be very fickle.

I also added three Dario dario to the tank. I was pretty stoked at first because they were very pale and small, I thought that perhaps I had some girls. Alas, after about 5days in the tank they are growing and are already colouring up into what are for sure two males and likely a third. I will have to get a decent camera and take some photos of the "alpha" male. He is really stunning(as is my lone male in my paludarium).

Now that the tank is what I would consider mostly complete, I have decided that I am not very happy with it. If I have the chance I will create more of an actual "stream" tank utilizing Crypt. wendtii, lutea, balansae, and Eleocharis sp. The tank will be far more barren and have a higher density of rocks along with a few smaller pieces of wood.

I've done it! I am now running pressurized CO2! My regulator isn't as exact as I would like, but after fiddling with it for a minute I have it set to what I think is a good starting point.
