Indoor Pond - Netting

Has anyone with an indoor pond found it necessary to cover it with netting to prevent Comet goldfish from jumping out?

yes,... some sort of barrier is good - you never know when they are going to take that leap... It doesn't have to be netting, I've used plexy glass.

my sis has an infloor 200 gallon pond filled with feeders and comets. its been running for 4 years w/ no top and so far 1 fish has jumped out because her cat fell in the tank.

Legendary, it's not funny, but I couldn't help but laugh. I'd jump out if I were that fish too! Thanks for your reply.

actually the plexiglass will get cloudy or smugded and you will have to clean it

try to find pond netting that is black .. its is easier to look through

WeeNe858, I think that might happen if the water level is close to the glass. In my case, there will be a good six inches between the cover and the water. Even though, I think cleaning is a small price to pay. Did you mean that the plexiglass would turn permanently cloudy over time?
