info on lima shovelnose

They have to recognize your dry food as food to want to eat it. I've seen a smaller lima figure out that flake food was actually food by watching other fish eat. Once the recognize dry food as actual food, they'll eat it if there's nothing else left to eat. That includes any fish small enough to fit in it's mouth.

They grow fairly fast, but it really depends on the size of your tank. I personally would say that a 55G is the smallest tank I would put a single lima in.

Limas can eat fish up to 1/3rd their length, depending on the fish. Good luck.
