Injecting CO2 into Fluval intake

I have a Fluval 204 and saw that someone on another site took a glass diffuser and mounted it under the intake of the canister filter .I have the glass diffuser in the take now but it is away from the intake .I was wondering if I were to move it over under the intake will it pose a problem.I saw somewhere where ceratin canister filter impellors will lock up do to gas build up.Does anyone know if the Fluvals have this problem.

I can't remember the details exactly but I think Fluvals are not good for injecting CO2 into. I think it damages the impeller like you said. I think for all top mounted impeller canister filters it's not recommended.

I use a 204 and 304 on my 75g. I did build an external reactor for the 304 but found the outflow reduced too much for my liking, although the reactor did work good.

I'm now doing almost what you are. I use a ceramic diffuser that sits directly under a small cheap powerhead. The microbubbles get sucked into the powerhead and from there they get blasted into the path of the 304 outflow.

Fluvals do make funny noises when CO2 hits the impeller.
