just noticed one of my 6 green tigers has been pretty brutalised -
(think its a suspect krib.....)

lost much of his fins, and a large proportion of his tail.

hes still fighting, but lost his ability to stay right way up.... im wondering is it more humane to euthanise him??

hes in a holding tank right now.....

Don't give up just yet, I've had very very badly injured cichlids before and quite a few of them has recovered. Firstly make sure you resolve whatever is causing all the bickering and fighting then put a stop to it whether you seperate the fish or selling them or even adding more hiding places for territory, next make sure your water quality is in tip top shape, wounded fish very often are susceptible to other disease which will surely take their little lives, then use melafix, this medication imo works real well on wounds and damaged fins.

Hope that helps

thanx AF.....

ive a feeling the problem was the lone krib in the tank (the more i have em, the more i just dont like em.....:( )

ive moved the barb to a seperate tank, but he looks pretty beat. hes jsut layin on the surface moving occasionally.....

ill get some treatment today and see if that helps...

cheers

(ps anyone want 2 female kribs....... )
