Anyone have some tips on the program, or similar programs.

This PhotoShop seems pretty complicated....

What unique things have you done with digital pics?

Or just any tips in general.... :D

I use the Photoshop program...and about the only thing I have been able to figure out how to do with the thing is ...."open"..."crop"..."resize"..."zoom in"..."zoom out".....and "save"....lol....

If anyone has any pointers I'd be glad to hear about them !.... :girl:

It's easy...

Go out, buy one of the many tutorial books that come with a cd at Barnes and Noble and have at it. I use it in the post production world and it's easy to use. Color Balance and levels are your friend!

I have heard a lot of good things about a book called "The PhotoShop Bible".
Now if only I could get my hands on that program! I'm not willing to pay 400+ dollars for it though...

It was that much the last time I looked at the Adobe website...I got a couple of 'free' versions of PhotoShop off of KaZaA, but they were bad files. :(
I just make do with MS Paint and live with it.

Adobe Photoshop is a professional-level program. It's got lots of great features, but most of those are not much use to the average home computer user, especially for the cost. If you really want to learn it, then I recommend taking a course. Otherwise, use a simpler program for editing photos. iPhoto does a decent job for simple photo editing, don't know if it's available for PC though. I believe that there is a consumer-level version of Photoshop as well (can't remember the name of it.) Check out Adobe.com to see what they offer.

Edit: Photoshop Elements is the program I was thinking of. There are both Mac and Windows versions. The Windows version is $99.99 on CD or $89.99 via download. :)

By learning how to do some basic effects, just string them together and you can come out with some cool results.
