Java moss strings to hang around the tank like rambo movies.. And I have a bunch im going to weave together to a long flat piece of plastic or mesh to make myself a background for my tank ..

Moss wall?



The picture is taiwan moss wall.. you can do same with java moss.. but be sure to get light on all of it.. or it will grow out uneven

i thought about doing a moss wall but i wouldnt know how to remove the ggs my killifish would lay on it.

allaboutfish. If you want to make a java moss carpet... its pretty simple... just follow the same techniques in making a riccia carpet... i personally prefer scrape tiles (1x1 tiles work the best) since they are uniform in shape. over here in BC a guy sells 5 tiles for a buck... what i do is simply tie it down with sewing thread or fish line whichever works well for you... I personally like thread coz it disolves in time around the same time for hte moss to grow out and cover it. 2 things to consider though... make sure you have a very nutrient rich water column and lots of light. Mosses usually dont need a lot of light but for the carpet you need a bit of light and nutrients to jumpstart the growth. hope that helps
