What are some interesting or unsual or unique or oddball fish? For example, I think African Butterfly Fish, Elephant Nose and knives are all pretty unusual or unique. What are some others? So there are no fish that can only fit in an extremely large tank, I'll say cap the tank size at 125 gallons.

some FW gobies--small but really cute! How about Hillstream loaches?

Freshwater hatchetfish are the only fish that actually use powered flight-actually flapping their 'wings'. Other fish just glide. Plus they actually look like you could cut down a wee tree with them if you grabbed them by their tail. They aren't really uncommon, though they are mostly wild caught. But I think they're really interesting and cool.

I was looking at ropefish, theyre pretty cool. The bichirs were also interesting. I have some freshwater gobies in a ten gallon. They're a funny little fish. The hillstream loaches were very cool but the farlowella is one of the coolest looking fish I've seen for aquariums. Kind of reminds me of a gar, but much smaller. Hatchet fish do have an unusual shape but Im looking for a centerpiece fish. Any more?

Teacup stingrays are nice, and from what I've read about them a 125g will suffice. Expensive, though.

I loved my peacock eel when I had him, personally I'd like to see a good number of them being kept together (6+).

Halfbeaks and puffers could be considered unique & interesting, though for puffers I'm not sure you could do anything except try a couple dwarves and hope they all have friendly personalities.

I've had eels (peacock and zig-zag) since I started keeping tanks seriously. They are pretty cool. You won't see them all that much in the aquarium but they do have personality when they come out and are neat to watch while they hunt for food.
