introduce myself

Something I noticed after my original post. If I look upwards from the bottom (above gravel) to the top water line I can see the tape line where the backgroung is held in place. Amazingly the background appears clear and crisp as it was in the store. If I look through the middle of tank the background is almost void. This lends me to thinking that it maybe the lighting position or the type of bulb and how it reflects in the water which maybe causing the the problem. Has anyone experienced this?

scott, thats a brand new tank man. the clody water is a bacterial bloom which will go away when the tank settles down. if it gets too bad do a water change which you need to be doing anyway to keep the ammonia and nitrites under control. do you have a good test kit? could you post your numbers ?
