Hows it going everyone? Im newly registered, but not completely unfamiliar with this site. Ive used its search feature to find tons of helpful information in the past. However, im having a "problem" that i havent found any information on...and i thought this would be a good time to introduce myself as well.

My name is Sean and i have a 20gal fw aquarium and a 10gal terrarium/paludarium set up right now, but have had tons of others in the past. Anyway, my 10gal is a pretty basic setup with a waterfall, river, and a little pond with land making up roughly 65% of the tank. Its planted with a purple waffle angel plant and a Bonsai Carmona, but its main inhabitant is Kramer the Blue Whites Tree Frog. He is by far the friendliest amphibian ive ever come across. Sometimes he moves around in his cage like hes following me around the room, and if i stick my face close to the glass he comes up to the glass and starts acting like hes trying to get out. Sometimes he even starts "licking" the glass and digs to try to get out. If you stick your hand in there he actually jumps on it, ive never had to pick this frog up. However, hes never tried to escape if im not near the glass. He seems perfectly happy.

I mentioned this to the guy at the pet store and he said that somethings wrong. He told me that frogs wont try to get out unless theres something wrong with the habitat. I mentioned that he never does it unless im right at the glass, but he still thinks something is wrong. I keep the water around 80deg and the air stays at 78deg at night and 82-85deg during the day with a humidity of 50-80%. He seems perfectly healthy to me. So do i have something to worry about or do i just have an overly friendly frog?

Sorry for the long post. I tried to upload some pics but it wouldnt let me for some reason.

Welcome to AC Sean! :)

It sounds like your frog knows who brings him dinner if you ask me. Your frog has a typical feeding response and there's nothing to worry about. My African Bullfrog acts the same. As soon as he sees me approach the tank he comes out of hiding and waits near the front of the tank until I drop some crickets in. My only suggestion is to possibly get your frog a bigger tank like a 20 gallon high. They enjoy the extra vertical space for climbing. You'd be surprised how active they are at night.

I originally had him in a 30gal corner tank with all kinds of tree limbs and bamboo for him to clamb on, but the only thing he ever used was a stick that i found in a creek a long time ago. Hes really never been much of a climber and never goes more than 6" off the ground. All of the other tree frogs ive had spend most of the time hiding in higher branches, but this one is content staying low on his one stick. He spends as much time sleeping on the rocks and standing in the waterfall than he does climbing up high. This frog has the temperment all his own lol

I tried to post some pics a while ago but i couldnt for some reason. I think my computer was the problem, so ill mess around with it and see what i can do.
