I'm using Salt for ich treatment as of right now. The tank only has MTS, some pond snails, plants, and an ich contaminated fish. Does salt affect any inverts in anyway? Is it lethal towards snails or shrimp? Also, will ich affect snails or shrimp? If I was to convert my current fish tank into an all invertebrate tank, would ich die out?

I can't say on iodized salt as I don't use it. Many say it makes no difference but I'm not convinced on that point as of yet. I use Kosher salt because it contains nothing, and it is cheaper by buying in large boxes that I can't get regular salt in. (I also use it for margaritas! That's what most bartenders use as it is bigger crystals and cheaper in cost).

Iodine concentration is far less dangerous than most people think. It is always a myth that iodine can kill a fish. It shouldn't be of any problem. Dissolve salt first before use. If the iodine were dangerous to aquatic creatures, then it will have the same effect on humans when the departments have regulated the amount since iodine overdose can be fatal for human consumption.

the iodized salt contains iodine, so no it wound't be a good idea!
you could try sea salt but you can go to walmart and get aquarium salt cheap! it's like $1.63 where i am

"Aquarium salt" is a farse. Total BS.

Iodized salt doesnt have Iodine in it per say. I do believe its Iodide, which is a cousin to Iodine.
