Is an air bubbler necessary?

Is this needed when you have a power filter? Also what temperature should the water be while cycling?
 
No an air bubbler isn't needed as long as there is some surface movement of the water there will be air exchange.

Keeping the temp above 70F is best. Lower means the growth of the bacteria will be slow.
 
I've heard keeping it as high as 82 will increase the bacteria growth, and that's what I'm running now. We'll see how it goes.
