I haven't removed any of our shrimp when they've been carrying eggs. If I had a little more space, I'd probably try it just to see how far I could get with them. From the little I've read, it seems very important to have proper flow and the appropriate food for the young. I definitely think it's worth a shot if you're willing to give it a try and can put all the pieces together to hopefully make it work (tank set-up, food, etc.). Sure, peppermint shrimp only retail for $6 - $8 each, so there's really not any money to be made out of it on the scale most of us hobbyists could handle, but the experience itself would be worth it if you're into those kinds of things. Otherwise, the newly hatched young will make a good snack for your fish and corals.
