Is my Rainbow shark crazy???

I have had an albino rainbow shark in my 55 for about a week.

He is the most active fish in my tank! he is never at rest, always racing around like a mad man! he swims in giant loops and figure eights along the back of the tank. The craziest thing he does is swim as fast as he can into the current of the water coming out of the HOB, it's like he jumps into it I swaer! And then he very loudly splashes back down.

Is this normal behavior? I read about others saying theirs just hides all the time. And I do have plants, caves, rocks, and driftwood for him if he wished to go hide. None of the other fish have been bothering him, and he hasn't been bothering anyone either. I have even seen him sharing a sinking wafer with my cories!
 
we have 4 in our 250.. and 3 of them are very active and curious.. and one kinda minds his own business and swims around his cave and keeps everybody out.
they're a lot of fun and they've quicky become my favorite fish in the tank. i was a little concerned that they would fight despite the large quarters (normally its not recommended to keep more than one) but there was only one incident (some headbutting for about an hour) and we haven't had any trouble since.. i guess they just had to figure out who was boss.

anyways, as long as your water parameters are good, i would just call this normal behavior.
 
I have a 4" non-albino in my 55 and he's pretty much insane too. lol

At feeding time, I drop 2 sinking wafers in opposte ends on the tank for the cories and loaches (and everyone else pretty much). He wll swim laps taking quick nibbles off the wafer at each end and then races back to the other one. He also does the HOB surfing thing.
 
i kinda wish i had an HOB so mine could go surfing.
*sigh* my poor deprived fishies.
 
Ok, good! I guess he is just spirited. HOB surfing, I love it! I didn't think anyone would believe me!! I'm glad I'm not the only one. He actually woke me up from sleeping in the middle of the night slashing around while surfing!!!
 
I have a Psychotic 4" rainbow in a 10gal tank. he thinks he is the boss or something. Most active raionbow I have ever had... He is always chasing the other fishes in there and keeping themall in shape. Anyway Whats a HOB?
