Hey all, please take a look at the pics and see if you can tell if she's holding. The boy and this one were acting very odd for the last few nights and she is much skinnier than before. I can't really see into her mouth to tell.
Thanks Phil
Yes, her throat does look full, kind of like a pelican. She is not eating but is active and not hiding. Guess I have some research to do on Lab rearing. Here goes.
Mine just had her Fry.i noticed she would swim up at feeding time but she wouldn't eat anything.it took her almost 3 weeks and she released 19 frys two days ago and she is doing just fine now.
congrats and good luck to you
Well I guess that is the question. Wether or not I want a brood of yellow labs or let her spit in the big tank and let nature take it's course. If I try to net her won't she spit the eggs out? And would I keep the water in the grow out tank the same as the big one or warmer. I add a little salt to the water in the 90 so would I do the same to the grow out tank?
Thanks, Oh and MOJO...my boy likes Jumbo and is asking the wife for a big tank so we can get one.
I keep yellow labs in a couple of tanks. Unless your tank is pretty barren, some of the fry will survive even if released in a tank with other fish. The more little hiding spaces you have -- nooks and crannies in rock piles, clumps of plants (fake or real) the more survivors you'll have.
