As of last night I have noticed that the nitrites and ammonia are both now down to near zero readings on my test strips after ammonia first peaking very high and then recently the nitrites. The strip shows Nitrates at a safe level. Does that mean I am done with the cycle now and just have to rely on regualar water changes now to keep things in check?
Is the cycle done?

if the nitrates are rising, it would appear you are very close if not completely cycled. Keep a close eye on it the next couple of weeks though especially if you add anymore fish to the current bio-load.
