I am looking at investing in a CO2 tank/regulator/etc. Is there a good thread on what I will need to get started as well as some suggestions on certain products/manufacturers?

Type 'pressurized CO2' into the search engine and you will get all kinds of information on this subject.
Then you will have more of a footing for asking further questions.
