Someone is selling these in my city, I was thinking about getting a package, its only $20, but I'm not sure how they would do in my tank. It isn't super well lit, but its around 2WPG.

How would these plants do, and is this a good deal? I'm only dosing excel every other day, and my current plants are looking great.

HYGROPHILA POLYSPERMA 'CEYLON' ---------------------- 4 long stems
HYGROPHILA POLYSPERMA 'SUNSET’ - Sunset Hygro ---- 2 medium stems
HYGROPHILA CORYMBOSA 'SIAMENSIS’ Giant Hygro ---- 1 small plant
CERATOPTERIS THALICTROIDES - Water Sprite ----------- 1 LARGE bunch
SAGITTARIA SUBULATA - Dwarf Sagittaria ---------------- 3 plants
LUDWIGIA REPENS - Red Ludwigia ------------------------- 2 medium stems
CRYPTOCORYNE PETCHII - Micro Crypt --------------------- 1 medium or 2 small

I say go for it.

I have several of those plants in 2 WPG and they are thriving .......Hygro, water sprite, Dwarf Sagittaria, and some crypts. The only thing I have never been able to grow is the Ludwigia Repens........I don't know why, I have tried several since everyone tells me they are easy to grow. Hopefully you will have better luck.

I agree that those species aren't too demanding (Sunset Hygro - let it go emergent and you'll be pulling enough of it to make bales on a weekly basis), but for $20 and those quantities, they should be top quality. Look up the seller's references/ratings if you can.

Go for it.....only one that may not thrive is L. repens. It seems to like high light and CO2 IMO...as well as ferts.

At one time or another, I've had most of those (or very closely related) in under 10 watts of light; excluding L. Repens, with very good growth rates. Take that, 'high lighters' :raspberry: :hitting: . IMO, yes it is entirely possible to do with 2WPG - I imagine that you are using a higher wattage than I used.

I have 2 36" 30W tubes over my tank. Its actually from my 50g, but i put the fixture on my daughters 35g because it goes all the way across... the default perfecto fixture is only 24" long.... on a 36" tank.....wtf
I had to modify the hood so the light would shine through all the way across.

back on track though... I have some red water temple in the tank, and it seems to be growing very nicely, along with everything else so far.

I was just wondering if those plants would grow well in my tank, and if $20 was a good deal.

I think it's a good deal plus you don't have to pay for shipping and the plants will be healthier for it. They should all do well in your tank, just not sure about the LR that one may need more light, I'm not sure since I always kill it. We would love a pic if you decide to get this.... 8) Michelle

wont be until I get paid weds, if he still has any packages left :(
I definitely want one.
