Is this a male or female red devil

I just got a red devil today and I bought the one that I thought was a male but I’m not sure do you guys know what it is the other one I could have gotten was all orange

We need better pics of the fins, dorsal, anal & tail. The little I can see in your first pics I'm guessing female.

How big is it? It looks small yet...

Well, I'm sticking with female for now...but what's eating her tail? It looks bad...High nitrates? Aggressive tankmate?

What other fish do you have with it? What are you water parameters? Tank size?

It’s not me I just got it from the fish store today and no tank mates 125 gallon tank dang it I was hoping it was a male

Maybe a very young male? I haven't kept red devils, I was going on basic cichlid fins...but at 5 inches it seems like we should be able to tell...

He or she has been very aggressive trying to lip lock with it’s reflection

It doesn’t accept any food I give it I tried pellets tilapia flakes shrimp I don’t know what to do
