I finished my viv about 6 months ago and i recently planted it. I realized that the silicone i used had mold and mildew resistance. Is that toxic to frogs? i heard it was. I sure hope not.:wall:

Do you know what the actual ingridients were? Personally I wouldnt trust it with my livestock if its anything other than pure silicone..

You want pure silicon, as the mold stuff can be toxic. I would not trust it, and would reseal the tank. I believe GE Silicon I is the one to use.

If im not mistaken, both have pretty much the same ingredients. Was yours the kind used for bathtubs or windows?

One is 100% silicon, the other has mold and mildew resistant.

There has been alot of discussion on this... GE says that there silicone contains the same things, one just doesn't say it on the label.

They are two different products, the one does not contain those chemicals used for mold and mildew.

 I can only pass on what GE says about its GE silicone II. What is the exact dif between 1 and 2? If I remember right 1 is the(obviously) older formula and lacks bioseal in all versions? Other than that, anything different?

GE Silicon I doesn't have mold/mildew from what I remember. I would only use GE Silicon I for Windows. I used this on my sump for my saltwater tank with no issues.
