I was just wondering is there any way possible to heat a2.5 gallon tank ? Im sure i hear a few why dont you just get a bigger one and Id LOVE to have one but it isnt possible. Any who inptu would be greatly appreciated.

In my 2 gallon tank I use a Hydor Theo 25 watt submersible heater that has an adjustable temperature.

yeah, just get a small heater, they shouldn't be hard to find, especially if you look online

Yes I agree, you may not be able to find it at your local Petsmart or Petco, but if you look online you shouldn't have a problem finding one. Make sure it is a good one though, because if the heater broke and the temperature drastically dropped or if the heater overheated way higher than it should, you will have less time to correct the problem in a 2.5 then a 55.

OKAY, after some careful negotiating with my boyfriend and some digging around the basement i found an old 10 gallon and a double 20 gallon stand which with some modifications will work perfect in our room. Now im just wondering since i want to have a planted aquarium with not too many restrictions as far as species i can get, what kind of buld can i get for a 15" fixture the highest i have seen is 14w.

the standard 15'' single flourscent fixure will not be enough light for a planted fixture, you'll need to either add more lights, or get a new higher output fixture, you cannot get a bulb for your existing fixture any higher than 14 watts

good luck
