I'm not so sure that it's too much but I might be on the very edge. What do you guys think?

This is the rebuild of my 55 gallon. It will have plants added later but I'm messing around now with the wood and rocks. I want a rock pile on the left for the red cherry shrimp to call home and I'll have a thicket of rotalla on the right for another community of them there... fish I'll decide on later. Right now I'm just hemming and hawing about the wood. The twisted long piece in the back is staying there but can move left or right. I think JRR called it right when he said it looks like grapewood but from what I have been reading up on there are 2 kinds... the light stuff which gets fungus and rots right away and the heavy stuff which some have had in their tanks for years with no troubles. I think I have the heavy. I drilled some holes in the back and it's suction cupped onto the back glass. The pieces on the far left hide the filter strainer.

i love it i will give you 300$$ for the tank and wood:)

I agree with the above. The driftwood looks fantastic. I have real trouble getting large bits like that at my lfs. Great find!!!
