that I introduced myself. I'm almost up to 100 posts!

I work in a production lab with bull semen, and run a machine called a flow cytometer to determine cell viability and integrity. What this boils down to is that I'm sitting in front of the computer for a large part of the day, with not much to do. I could go into more detail if you guys wish, but trust me - it's not that interesting. In case anyone was wondering, the semen is used in artificial insemination in the dairy industry to make little baby cows. We just test and package.

My husband and I got into fish about a year ago when my African Pygmy hedgehog passed away at the ripe old age of 5. She'd been in a 50 gallon auarium, and I agreed to let my husband turn it into a fish tank, assuming it was waterproof. Well it was, and of course the inevitable MTS set in. Our current tanks are in my signature. They're all pretty much overstocked, but we keep the parameters immaculate, and have no problems with agression, stunting, etc.

We also have:
2 dogs (male great dane x "Charlie," and female pit/boxer x "Baela")
2 cat (male Gimper/P*ss Machine "Jan," and male Assy McFatass "Felix")
1 female Peachfaced Lovebird (Zim)
1 female (?) Meyers parrot (Kelly)
1 female South American Ornate Wood Turtle (Harvey)

NO children which makes it all possible.

Anyways, cheers from snowy, cold, wet, grey Ithaca. I'm on a sick day today, so I'll be around . . . ;)

LOL.

I like your pics! I know a teacher who lives in Ithaca. I like visiting there, nice area.

What an interesting job you have!

love the pics, phae, the black cat is my hands down favorite! Welcome to the boards, I am sure you will enjoy your stay ;)

Thanks! Let me just say that Jan is a very, very lucky cat. He has an idiopathic urinary problem, which means he gets urinary tract infections and no one knows why or how to stop them. What that translates to is that he pees all over the house from time to time. And it STINKS, WAY worse than normal cat pee. So he has an x-large dog crate that he stays in at night, with a littler box and a water bowl. But he's part Siamese, so he MEOWS if he's awake cause he wants to be anywhere but in the crate.

In fact, I'm the lucky one. I have a very, very patient husband :)

Jan's brother and sister had to be put down as kittens, because they had other deformities that were just too invasive for them to lead normal lives. He is the only surviving kitten from his litter. He was brought in with his siblings by a cat collecter who had approx. 50 cats in a trailor, and I'm sure he's inbred, and I'm sure his mother was sick when she was pregnant with her kittens. He's named after Jan Baalsrud - if you haven't read the book "We Die Alone," you're missing out!

He has a condition called radial hypoplasia. Here is a really, really informative site on this condition: http://www.messybeast.com/hypoplasia.htm
