i used to be in to fish heavily i was on other chat sites daily at the lfs all the time and loved my fish ... since school has started back up i just haven't had time for my fish. so the other day i decided to clean and re arrange my tank and i got a few new fish and such, i just want people to re-fill my mid with the do's and don'ts in cichlid keeping i currently have 5 firemouth's and 5 convicts in a 55gallon tank! thanks!

These full grown? Tank seems crowded. How's the aggression seem? Any breeding pairs (seems likely)? I would think that two breeding pairs would pretty much max out the tank.

no the biggest convict is pushing 2.5" and same with the two biggest firemouths, but the aggrssion is fine no problems and i used to have breeding pairs and i have lost a few fish and gained a few others along the way ... no beeding firemouths b/c the two big boys are both males and the only female is oly about an inch . i was kinda hoping that the firmouths and convicts would cross breed just for my own personal "delight' haha bet i dont know i am building a diy fry tank to sit inside my tank right now b/c i know i will have fry before long and i have a VERY awkward shaped tank and such so i hope this helps ... i am planning of taking out a few convicts and a firemouth or two once i establish breeding pairs of both . so i will end up with 2cons and 2 firses.
