Gesundheit!

Feels ridiculous, sneezing all day long. I have fits--sneeze 5-6 times in a row, pause, then one big huge one. I'm going through more kleenex today than in the last few months.

I HATE allergies. I take Zyrtech and Flonase, which keeps the drainage to a minimum so I don't get sinus or ear infections, but nothing stops the sneezing and the itchy, runny eyes.

Means it's about time for me to move--my allergies only get bad after a few years in the same place.

i woke up this morning thinking the same thing, living in a city doesn't me help much.

Well, I mentioned in another thread that I am allergic to everything. I have the test results somewhere, that lists specifically what they tested for. I do know the only thing they tested for that I did not have a reaction to was cockroaches. I was allergic to beef, about any tree you can imagine, all molds, bread, cats, etc. etc. Now, don't ask me why they test for roaches because you really do not want to know as it will ruin your life. I battle sinus infections all fall, winter and spring. Summer is usually good for me though. I have had more sinus infections than ought to be right.

So, I can relate. I take Claritin. I've used Allegra, Clrainex, Flonase spray, and lots of others. Nothing really works. I was on allergy shots too, but I still got sick with them, so I figured why bother? The point of the shots is to build up resistance, so screw it! i own two cats instead. ;)

I can handle the sinus infections--but the drainage into my ears at night (I sleep on my side) give me ear infections, and those are worse. Dizziness, which makes me puke. Much worse than sinus pain.

I've tried a barrage of drugs as well. Most work for a short time, then cease. I actually do better in new environments--takes a while for my system to react to the various allergens enough to be a problem. This is the worst it's been up here--not too bad, since I've been here for 10 years this May.

I get ear infections too. I also have weak lungs (asthma when I was young etc.) and well, I have had pnuemonia 4 times in my life, bronchitis many many times and upper respiratory infections even more. It seldom stays as a sinus infection with me, but it's generally easier to lump them up rather that list them all. Anyway, Onec I start having a stuffy nose, I pretty much know it will get infected. I've had the nasal surgery and it has helped me immensely as I had some eral "structural" problems in my sinuses. I used to get no relief from meds as the stuff never drained, so antibiotics would clear an infection, then I'd still have the junk in my head, throat and lungs, and it would get reinfected. Now it can drain, so my quality of life has improved dramatically! Anyway, this sinus easons (counting back to November) I have had one Upper Respiratory Infection, One case of Bronchitis and one sinus infection. No ear infections this year, but I have had both ears infected and double ear infections (meaning like inner ear and middle ear infections). It's retarded, really. I hate allergies, but what cn you do? This has been a decent eyar for me, all told, having had only three infetions total and summer is enarly here!
