Someone hacked into my Second Life account this morning and made $4000 worth of transactions against my checking account. I worked 3rd shift and was on my way home when my bank called me about the questionable activity. Now my bank balance is zero until they investigate, and my check card is invalid until I receive a new one next week. Glad I filled up my gas tank last night! *sigh*

If you have any accounts online that have access to your money in any way, make your password complicated. Hackers are getting smarter!! I've had 2 accounts hacked this year, and never have before.
 
Wow, good luck with it, hope the bank will cover your losses. Its getting to the point where getting a credit card/bank account with automatic fraud protection is starting to sound like a really good idea.
 
Well Linden Labs refunded my money and reset my account password. What the person did was hacked into my account and bought game money on the currency exchange which deducts the cost (ended up being $2k.. their second transaction was denied) from my checking account. I was surprised how easily LL parted with $2k... the guy said the money had already been cashed out of the system. LL is eating the loss.

I then called the fraud number at my bank to update them and let them know I'd recouped the money. That guy was pretty much being a jerk. I better not see overdraft charges showing up on my account!

In other news, as I walked to my vehicle this morning after work, I found that someone has swiped the side of it in the parking lot and left. No better way to spice up the day even more than a hit and run.

I'm not having such a good month.
 
omg! you poor, poor soul! At least you have some good news. And a hit and run should be covered by your insurance. I really hope your month doesn't goes on this way. If thats the case I will put you out of your misery:p:
 
ugh, gee... sorry to hear about your troubles Kim... makes me glad I got Life lock a couple months ago... was always afraid of this happening... these days when you need every check to pay something else off, it's too risky not to.... good luck with the car and hope there's no OD amounts on your account.

I guess it's time to hit the CoinStar machine with my big ole jug of pocket change. :) Oodles of Noodles, anyone? :headbang2: I just not so long ago got my Jeep back after a collision. This damage isn't tooooo bad. Alot will probably buff out. It's a little dented a crinkly. I think I'm going to just let it go. This would make my 3rd claim on it since I bought it brand new in '04. :\
