Jacob with babies!!

Now she is worrying me, I was watching her this morning and she started acting really strange...she kept swimming on the bottom and then she would scrape her side on the rocks in her tank??? Is this normal, maybe what she does before releasing the babies or should I be worried that something may be wrong? She isn't doing this now but she did it like 5-6 times. I checked the water and everything is fine as far as nitrAtes, trItes and ammonia.

You could try feeding her, but she most likely won't eat. I'd take out the food if she doesn't eat it. You can do small water changes if you want. I wouldn't do anything drastic though.

I'm not sure about the scraping on the rocks. The only time my eureka was holding, she hid alot so I didn't see her much. I never got a chance to move her to another tank because I couldn't catch her.

Just give her time to release them. If its been over 2.5 to 3 weeks, then you can strip her (remove the fry yourself), but I wouldn't do that unless she's been holding a long time.

she does hide alot, I didn't even know she was holding until they were babies and not eggs, just one day when I was feeding I noticed her mouth looked swollen and she wasn't eating (she swims to the food like she is but then turns) then I saw black dots through her "cheeks" and under mouth, I looked closer and she was moving her mouth alot and opened it in front of me and I saw a little eye looking out at me. This was 6 day's ago and I moved her in her own tank then. But I guess she must be a proud Momma cause when I'm at the tank she swims out and comes to the glass right in front of me (and teases me of course) opening her mouth just enough for me to see the eyes and swims back to her rocks!
