My small 2-3 inch Jag has been in a fight with a Trimac (juvie)(the jag didn't start the fight, trimac did), he isn't to badly hurt, but I wanted to move him. So I moved him to my community setup. My 135 gallon has:
*1 GT 4-5 inches
*1 Pike Cichlid 4-5 inches
*1 Convict 2-3 inches
Now the Jag was added.
The Convict is the only one that seems annoyed with the new guy, all the others leave him alone.
The Jag is very shy even after a week of being in his new home, and he hasn't realy eaten yet. Should I be worried ?

Do you think this Jag could stay in my tank, with these tankmates for life ?

Is the tank even large enough to house them together ?

yeah it would work for a while, until the jag got some size on him and killed everything else

i wouldnt do this if were you. ive never had jags, but i know they get big and very mean. only someone who has great cichlid knowledge and a huge tank could even put a jag with somethin else.

First of all I would just like to say I like the fact that you call this you "community setup". HAHAHAHAHAA Sounds like the community of L.A. when the L.A. riots occured.

Sorry, not trying to jump on your case. What you have in the 135g sounds pretty good now. The current residents could probably get along for most of their lives. Just like the guy before me said, you could keep the jag in there for awhile. And yes, he most likely would kill the others.

Its probably best if you just go ahead and take the jag back to the store, before things get too out of hand.

ive grown jags over 12", and think your setup will be fine, as long as you dont get a pair of them, singular they do fine in a comunity setup up like that. ive had simalar setup for long time before with no problems.

good luck
