Uh ok - I picked "WTB" from the drop-down, but it's not on my listing? *confused*

Looking to stock my new 75 gal with low-light plants. Going to keep this one basic for now. I do have some java moss that I will be moving into the tank from the crop I'm growing in my other tanks, but am otherwise plantless thus far. :)

Also - other lowlight plants besides the java fern and hornwort will be appreciated - but those two I am definitely hunting for. ;)

Thanks in advance!

I have a 38 with an overabundance of hornwort. That tank also contains tiny duckweed (Lemma minor), certain to be a hitchiker. The hornwort is great stuff, has been growing under a regular shop light for well over a year now. Unlike the hornwort from your lfs, it doesn't disintegrate all over the tank leaving a bare stem a few days later. How about $10 for a large ziploc shipped Priority Mail? That should thin me out enough for at least a few more months...

This sounds good - my only concern is the duckweed. I was reading another post by someone who is inundated with it, and don't want to run into that - any suggestions on controlling it before introducing it to my tank like this person - http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=210471 ?

Thanks!! :)

I can eliminate most of the duckweed before I pull out the hornwort, but I don't find it to be a problem in any of my tanks. Tanks that house cichlids are usually duckweed-free in a short time even though I toss a handful in occaisonally. Unless you have a sponge prefilter on your hob or canister intake/s it usually doesn't last long in any case. Aquaclears and fluvals eat it quite quickly IME.

Where in georgia are you? If it's anywhere near valdosta, there is a lfs there that has lots of REALLY big java fern. Since it's a big tank you're trying to stock I thought I'd throw it out there.

I'm in north Georgia - Valdosta is like 4 and half hours away... LOL

Coach - I'm not 100% sure. I am ordering a couple plants from someone who PM'd me, along with some crypts and such, but the $4/java fern plant is a bit pricey for me so I think I'm only going to get two from them. What do you have? Medium - large size would be great, but even small is OK to me since they will grow over time.

Let me know. :)

I have several java fern clippings...anywhere from 1 - 3 " of rhizome. Also have Java Moss, Najas (guppy) grass, and a little hornwort and anacharis. Cheap.

All tanks have snails, mostly ramshorns...I can't guarantee pond snail free, but I try to pick them out.
Najas grass may have Red Cherry shrimp hiding in it...I can try to specifically include/exclude RCS as desired.

PM if interested...

-Don
