I am going to try out a java fern plant in my tank, would should i becareful of and expect in the care of this plant in low light.

tankyou :worthy:

you don't need much.. they grow slow in low light. their nutrient demand is low as a result of low light.

mine have always done ok with stock light with a plant gro or 5500-6700 k bulb,

You can pretty much place it anywhere. With some help it will attach to hardscape otherwise as long as the rhizome is not buried you can place it in the substrate.

In low light it does well but you probably wont see much growth. They'll likely stay alive though.

"as long as the rhizome is not buried you can place it in the substrate."

Also if the leaves are turning brown it usually means that it is producing new leaves

Dont wanna hijack but when they propagate do the new plants grow on the leaves/

cool, so if I applied some fertilizer on to them once a month would that help them grow in low light or does it just come down to the light source provided? Thanks.:worthy:
