I have java moss, but it does not seem to be doing well. my water quality is awsome, but maybe it needs to be fertilized? Do I go get some and pour it in my tank? I hate to see it turning brown, so I need answers. I am assuming my lighting is not that great either, so will the fertilizer help? I plan on getting better lighting some time in the near future when money allows.
right now there is only a 18 watt bulb over the tank.

you may have just gotten bad moss. java moss under normal curcumstances can live through anything.

The moss should even benefit from sunlight from a room window. Doesn't have to be direct sunlight either.

what kind of substrate is your JM in? is it just floating or is it embedded somewhere? I would add some ferts and get better lighting, If not for the JM for the sake of getting better plants like swords and the like. Theres alot of stuff on the plant section that would help you out such as what kind of ferts you need and about adding CO2 Hope that helps.

I tied it onto a fake piece of wood. it just does not seem to thrive well :(
