how do i keep my moss ball looking good and growing? I have other plants in my 55 already. Just looking for some advice on the moss. The other plants seem to just flourish. I do add a little bit of Flourish excel.

most mosses do not do well with excel added. If you want it to grow ditch the excel and do some form of co2

I see java moss like I see performers... the less attention you pay, the more they try.

exactly the way I see it. I have co2 and when I'm actually payin attention the moss it doesn't look like anything is happening yet when I ignore it for a few weeks then notice it again its like tripled in size. also java moss does really really good once its established a place in the tank. Mine for the first few months was on the uneasy side. But after time it was fine. Also just a few tips I've figured out with java moss..

1. I've found if you "pull and spread" the java moss apart it regrows and looks a lot better

2. If you want more java moss in the tank take your moss and pull it in half..put 1 on each side and they will meet don't worry...I'm currently in the process of doing that nowl

3. Java moss likes to go inbetween roots, stones, filters, basically anything. I've found a LOT of java moss literally "hidden" under my driftwood or sneaking along the back of My tank.
