I have a 5 gal lying around but no heather.

I want to grow some java moss (I have very little of it) for my other tanks.

Should I just buy an air pump and a sponge filter to get this thing working? I've got the plant food and everything.

Thanks.

Well I used the 5 gal to remove the shrimps and plants for a ich treatment from another tank. That was 2 weeks ago. Since, I've been dumping small chunks of it from other tanks when some is breaking off or hanging from the filter intake.

I don't like the film on top of the water. That is why I think some filtration and bubbles would be beneficial. A couple of ghost shrimps would be great in there too, but since there is no hood, fish? Even mountain minnows can jump... I don't know about that...
