the algae in post 13 was actually a close up of a small patch that attatched itself to the glass and was just starting to grow. it does look like like its growing from the rock though. but yes it is the same algae. i just did a 50% wc to bring nitrates down. they were around 10, now there between 0 and 5. phosphates were at .2 now there undetectable on my test kit. should i have a more prcise phos. test kit because the lowest mine goes is .2 and i have read that you phos. are supposed to be in the .0's
THANKS FOR THE HELP ATNIXON

ALSO, I WAS WATCHING ON OF MY TURBO SNAILS LAST NIGHT AND I SAW HIM EAT A PATCH OF THE BRYOPSIS??? I THOUGT IT WAS TOXIC TO MOST FISH AND INVERTS AND THEY WOULDNT TOUCH THE STUFF???

Looks like a Bryopsis species in the 1st pic and C. Prolifera in the 2nd pic.

i googled prolifera and thats what it looks like. thanks for the input slappy*mcfish. and i thought the only fish/inverts that would eat bryopsis were tangs(on occasion) and lettuce nuddi's. shows how much i know!!!
