Jungle Co2 Fizz Factory

Hi guys,
I tried the DIY version, with dissapointing results. I bought one of these 9.00 fizz factorys installed and promptly threw away the instructions. I have looked on their website and read their instructions/descriptions there.

What I was needing help with is this. There is a plastic can that is connected to the top of the plastic box in the tank. On the side of the plastic box is a short hose. Why is that hose there and what purpose does it serve? Should it be above or below water and capped or not capped? I found a hose cap in my tank and have no idea where it came from, so right now I have the hose above water and capped.

I know its not a very important question. It's just one that is bugging the heck outta me.

The CO2 Fizz Factory isn't very good or cost effective. I would do the DIY CO2 Bottle root again with a Hagen ladder from drsfostersmith.com. You will get better results with less time and money spent.

I use the fizz factory for now, been using it for about a month with flourish excel daily and I've had outstanding results. The hose up top is supposed to be capped until just before adding a new tab then you just remove it bleed the old co2 and replace.
