Hi,
I just bought a "junior heater" which is supposed to heat tanks between 2-5 gallons. I have a 5.5 gal tank.

I turn the heater on. It seems to be faintly warm, but not really.

How much time does it take to get to its hottest? How long will I be waiting until the water is warm enough for my fishy?

Thanks

yeah, you can't select what temperature you want it to heat to or anything. it has a safety onit that shuts it off when it gets too hot, though.

Yeah. I've found the junior heaters only work for tanks from 1 gal-2.5 gallon. For a 5.5 you're better off getting a good ol' 25 watt, or even a 50 watt on a low setting.

They do take some time to heat the water but I used one to heat a 5 gallon hex and a 1 1/2 gallon hex too and both got up to 80 degrees.
