hey guys,

I'm just wondering if I could keep 1 or more angelfish in a 10G tank? if so how many and what kind of tankmates? (i.e.-corries or ottos for cleanup)

thanks a bunch!

A 10gal is way too small for an angel.

a planted 10 gallon (low tech planted) could be nice with a couple of otos and a small school of cardinals or neons.

Angels get to 9" long and 15" tall! So in short, No Way!!

hmm I had no idea angels got that large...good to know!

Probly gonna get some tetras or something along those lines. Anyone got another idea for an interesting species tank?

thanks alot!:D

well i'm probly gonna ask for a 20H for christmas so i can keep some angels. Any fish do well with angels besides bottom feeders? I would like to have a schooling species in the tank as well as angels.

if you want a 10G Species only tank how bout some Dwarf Puffers?

some of the blue eye rainbows will go in a 10 gallon and they are awesome looking... but they may be a little rare. try some tetras and ottos or maybe a betta. if you are planning to get a tank just for angels i would go a little bigger and get a 3ft 30gallon. thats enough for a pair. angels usually get to about 6 inches long i think and like to have a deeper tank because they are quite tall.

if you want to go brackish, bumble bee gobies are cool. if you want freshwater maybe live bearers (watch them though they breed like rabbits), smaller tetras, blue eyes, danios etc. and save the bigger fish like gouramis for the 30 gallon down the track ;)
