how many flag cichlids could i fit in a 20 gallon? i would atleast like a pair and how difficult/easy are these to breed?

I believe you are talking about Mesonauta festivus.
I would say one pair and if they do not get along, you may need a divider. No experience breeding them myself, I usually have one as a focal fish. I have always liked them.
