Just got back into the hobby

Picture test.
Just getting back into the hobby after a veeeery long hiatus.
10 Gallon with 6 cherry barbs and an Oto.
Did I end up with all female barbs?

Also, I had 3 origional cherry barbs and put in 4 cardinals with a bad Ich problem(they didnt last long). Now a barb (one of the 6) has a couple white spots on its tail. I added a few servings of salt and raised the temp to 82 F, this sound like enough to cure this?

when i was at Petco today i noticed the cherry barbs and the males were strikingly red in color.

Your cherry barbs are too pale to help determine their actual gender. How much is 'few servings'? I usually recommend a tablespoon per 5g table salt and dissolve before adding to the tank.

get the oto 2 buddies and feed them well...veggies and algae disks and shrimp sticks are what mine eat.

I'd clear the tank of Ich before adding anything. There are new strains of Ich that are termed "Far East Super Ich" and are resistant to the common meds. I've found nothing about the parasite growing tolerant of salt however. Stick with salt/heat and only consider adding when very certain of the tank being clear. JMO.

Yeah I threw in a couple tablespoons of salt in over a period of two water changes. The spots seem to be fading, I'll keep it updated.

On the sexing of the barbs I guess I'll have to wait till they get settled in.
What else should I feed them other than flake to improve their color? Frozen and Live brine?

lol, just about any fish like freeze dried blood worms.

Your tank is lovely. I would just wait for illness to subside before worryign about the cherry barbs colors. They certainly do look like females right now

I agree but any stress from a disease could cause them to lose coloration as would the move.
