i just want everyone to know this is the best thing known to manerv:i did a water change in 10 min.for anyone out there looking to buy one i highly suggest it.
Can I ask a q?
Ive never seen them here in Australia.. but Ive heard that it works to empty the tank by having your tap running at full speed which creates suction and pulls water out of your tank ? is this true ?
Dont you feel guilty by the amount of water you are wasting just to make your life a little easier ? perhaps ive just been brainwashed from living where I live
I use a python, but don't use the tap thingy to remove water from the tank, I just siphon it into the drain, then hook it up to the faucet to fill.
But I am lucky enough to have a floor drain near enough to the tank, which being on the floor, is much lower than the tank and drains well.
Alternatively, you could run it out the door or a window. Obviously this may not be an option for everyone though.
I did the tap drain thing a few times and also felt bad about wasting the water, then I realized I didn't need to. I think I actually get better suction from siphoning to the floor drain.
Sorry.. you mean after the initial start up then you turn the tap off? Ok I was under the impression that it had to stay on the full time you were emptying it. Fish shops around here wont sell them as they are against our water restrictions.
I use all my tank water on my plants and fill my fish tank from water I have saved from warming up the shower. It sucks but thats what I get for living on tank water in a country thats in the middle of a drought
oh i see thats to bad they really are the best.i don't really see how they would be restricted as they really don't waist water just makes your life easier when your going to use the water to fill your tank either by buckets or python anyways
Python's definitely don't work well with water restrictions. Where I live now it's not an issue, but in about 1.5 years I'm moving to Georgia where they've had a major drought since 2006.:22_yikes:
