Just got sharks!

when you say gouramis are you thinking dwarf gouramis?

it will help determine what if any angels you can add to the tank.

a 70 is a decent sized tank..if you introduce angels to that tank..depending on how many you could wind up with a few pairs..then that tank won't seem large enough.

angels may mix well with some gouramis..so research the species of gourami. keep in mind some gouramis don't do well with others if the same species. particularly males.

The rainbows WILL fight more and more as they mature. I tried to keep a pair and found out the hard way. And I don't know where your LFS gets his info from but cories stay MUCH smaller than rainbow sharks. By at least 3 inches so this guy is either messing with ya or really has no clue. I would go with a school of cories. At least 6 of them would be good. And I would get rid of one of the sharks asap.

70 g tall is not good anyway, fish like to swim back and forth , not up and dwon, especially sharks..

any corydora species that you get will not grow over 3.5", usually around 2.5-3 though. and just so u know, cories like to be in shoals of 6 or more, it just makes them more comfortable.

around 6 angels would look and fit nicely in your 70

about the shark, imo it would just be easier to return him while hes small than have to worry about lugging him around in a bucket later on.

and gouramis are actually pretty territorial and will nip at eachother alot but nothing to be too concerned about. make sure they are dwarf gouramis though because ive seen some HUGE regular gouramis.

im still chuckling about them saying your cories would be the biggest thing in your tank. they must have been thinking of plecos or something =?

Well it just looks like I'll ask about what I can have here and just go down to purchase at the LFS and not ask any questions there.

I'm not sure what I have with the Gourami, they told me it was a Rainbow Gourami, although from the link above I found a Blue Paradise Gourami and it looks exactly like what is in my tank. I really need to figure that one out, I'll have to ask them again when I take one of the sharks back. The problem now is which shark do I take back....not an easy decision. I'm excited though that you guys say I can add some Cory's, I've always found them intersting.

I did a search on "rainbow gourami" and it is just a colour variant of the drawf gourami (Colisa lalia). YOur good for a school if you want it, however, I would excersise caution keeping more than one male in your aquarium, it's a better idea IMHO(in my honest opninion) to only get one male and several females.

One problem though is it might be a Blue Paradise, and not really a Rainbow. The picture I found on a Rainbow wasnt the best so it was hard to tell.

How about just keeping one Gourami, or do they prefer to be in a school?

They can be kept as a loan fish, if you want. There not really a schooling species, however, your the one who brought up the word school for them so I used it too.

To avoid any confusion, is this your fish, or does it closely resmbel it?

I'm 99% sure mine is a Blue Paradise after staring at the little guy. It looks nothing like the Rainbow. Is mine a Dwarf also? It says they reach max 4". It's a good looking fish that is why I would like to get more, but if they're going to quarrel I'll just stick with one.

I do need to ask though...what is a Fancy Pleco? Someone in a comment earlier mentioned I could get one but when I looked up Plecos on that LIveaquaria website, nothing about Fancy. As cool as it was, I'm going to assume it wasn't a Zebra Pleco. If someone could tell me what species are Fancy I would appreciate it.

On a side note, If I was to get some Cory's and a Pleco to go with my shark...is that too many hanging out at the bottom?
