Just got sharks!

by fancy pleco's, I was aiming at a pleco that stays under 6 inches. This can be lemon head pleco's, or something of that sort. One bit of advice on pleco's, do not pick one up at the LFS without knowing what kind it is and how big it will get. The most common mistake is when a hobbyist gets roped into buying a pleco and they bring it home, loving their new fish only to find out that this common pleco they just brought home at 1 - 2 inches will turn out to be a 1.5 to 2 foot long monstor that constantly uproots deco and produces much too much waste for the tank they have and no LFS will take it back at that size even if you pay them.

Thank you for your help Dangerdoll, I think I'll wait on a Pleco for now, but will make sure I'm fully informed online before I go into a fish store for now on.

..so research the species of gourami. keep in mind some gouramis don't do well with others if the same species. particularly males.

Beware of the Gold Gourami. I have kept fish for over thirty years now, and Cichlids for much of that time. But I have never seen a display of aggression like what I saw out of a couple of Goldies...

But they were absolutely beautiful fish.
