Thanks, but I am going to have to get an external flash to get better pics. The problem is that I don't think my camera will take an external flash, any ideas.

With regards to the external flash, if your camera doesn't take one consider using a halogen light (or other very bright light) to illuminate the target and shoot without a flash. I've been messing around with that lately myself, and the results look promising so far (though I still need to work on the technique).
